From the autograph session at Anime Expo 2006, a shikishi signed by Ishiguro Noboru, director of Yamato, Atom Boy, Macross, Megazon 23, Legend of Galactic Heroes, all them old school series. He runs studio Artland which produced Mushishi. Apparently he goes to a lot of US cons just for fun, but this time he was actually a GoH, probably here to promote Mushishi along with Nagahama. After I got my Ginko sketch from Nagahama I stepped over to have Ishiguro sign. The little sketch he drew on the side is apparently a self portrait, plus a bunch of little characters meaning "mushi." And while he was drawing them he was muttering, "mushi, mushi, mushi..." He's such a cute and funny old man, I enjoyed their panel immensely too. (7/3/06)
